Married: Kim & Brian

Kim and Brian are two of the sweetest people, and their wedding day was so full of love!  The church was filled with family and friends, and Kim looked stunning as she walked down the aisle to meet her groom.  Following the ceremony their guests enjoyed an a reception with delicious food and lots of dancing!  And Kim did an amazing job with all of the decorations!  Thank you Kim and Brian for allowing me to be a part of your day!

Married: Lisa & Chris

Lisa & Chris got married at the Battlefield Bed & Breakfast in Gettysburg, PA.   I loved the venue, an old stone barn set next to a horse pasture, with lots of pretty backdrops for photos!  When I arrived that day it was pouring down rain, but once Lisa was ready the sky cleared up and we were able to do all of the portraits outside.  We kept watching the weather as another storm was on the way, but I was so happy for this couple that they were able to do their outdoor ceremony as planned!  Just as the reception was starting and everyone was inside the barn, the sky opened up again this time with thunder and lightning.  The storms didn’t affect the party inside though!  I loved all of the details that included Lisa’s love for her two german shepherds.  While the dogs were not actually present at the wedding, they were definitely a big part of the day from the readings in the ceremony, to the table cards, and the print for guests to sign.  Everyone enjoyed the amazing food from 3 Hogs BBQ followed by dancing.  The rain even stopped in time for some of the guests to get a chance to play the lawn games.  Thank you Lisa & Chris for allowing me to be a part of your special day!

All About Me: Mermaids and pirates!

Two things that I have always loved for as long as I can remember, are mermaids and the beach.  When my family went on vacation I spent most of my time in the water pretending I was a mermaid.  In fact, the costume that this little mermaid is wearing was my halloween costume when I was five years old.  I loved Ariel, and my mom and great aunt did an amazing job making my costume, and I’m so glad that my mom kept it stored away all of these years.

Recently I spent a week of relaxing vacation at Cape Cod, which is a place that holds so many memories of summer vacations from my childhood.  I had dreamed up doing an all about me session with my friends daughter, Grace.  Grace loves Ariel and just celebrated her 5th birthday with a mermaid party, so I knew she would love the chance to be a mermaid at the beach!

Her younger brother, Noah, also has quite the imagination, and spends most of his time pretending he is a t-rex or a tiger, but since we were at the beach he was happy to be a pirate for a few photos!  These photos just make my heart smile!  To me, they capture the imagination and fun of childhood, and I love the whole process of planning the session to shooting, and editing the final image.

I’ll just end with one of my favorite sayings…”Always be yourself, unless you can be a mermaid.  Then, always be a mermaid!”

Married: Renee & Eli

Renee & Eli could not have asked for more perfect weather for their outdoor ceremony at White Chimney Estate in the Lancaster area.  I had never been to their venue, and I was immediately in love with all of the beautiful details!  Renee set the tone for the happy day with sunny yellow bridesmaid dresses and sunflowers.  The ceremony was in a gorgeous garden setting with a field of horses in the background (so cool)!  After the ceremony,  guests were entertained during cocktail hour with live music on the patio!   I think it’s safe to say that everyone enjoyed a night of delicious food and dancing, which even included the limbo!  Congratulations Renee & Eli, and thank you for choosing me to capture your wedding day memories!

Married: Courtney & John 12-5-15

Courtney and John had a beautiful day for their December wedding!  I met the bridal party at the hotel where the girls were getting ready and captured the details of Courtney’s gown and accessories, and the final moments of preparation before the ceremony.  The church was just a short drive from the hotel, and it was one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen.  Sunlight flooded the nave through the stained glass windows, and the gold wall behind the altar was an amazing glittery backdrop for a beautiful ceremony.  Following the ceremony, we were able to brave the cold for a bit to get some fun portraits of the bridal party and bride and groom.  Some of my favorite images from the day were captured just before they hopped in the limo, when  the golden light on the street seemed to echo the warmth of the love and joy coming from the new Mr. & Mrs.  The reception was filled with thoughtful toasts, delicious food, lots of laughter and dancing.  Thank you Courtney and John for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
